Disunity of the Body

Greetings fellow travelers I am truly saddened. Many of the people I shepherded through six mission trips to China are no longer friends with me on Face Book, mainly because of differences in political or sociological beliefs. It appears those of us who call ourselves Christian have become like the Jews, we have Pharisee, Sadducee and Sanhedrin, in other words divisions in religious, political and social spheres. It is hard enough not to have divisions within the religious sphere, add the other two and we are in serious trouble. Paul speaks to the Church of Corinth about unity. He often speaks of unity in the body. One other point he makes is that we are not to be of the world; in the world we have no choice. When you couple this together you have water and oil. We interpret the bible differently. Most of us intertwine our personal political and social beliefs into how we view passages in the bible. This is the oil and water metaphor.
