Anger and Frustration

Greetings fellow travelers. So here I sit, basting in my own anger and frustration. I am watching to different organizations dwindle to mere shells of their former selves. I speak of an educational program and a church. Were they both once flourished, they are now both diminished and mostly for the same reasons. The exact reasons may vary but there is enough similarity; hard headedness, the leadership thinking they are right and not hearing what other have to say, having a damn the torpedoes full speed ahead mentality, mistrust of others, and desires to earn gold stars (praises). These traits are killing both. Both are losing clients if you will. Yet, it seems no one want to look at the reasons why and make the necessary changes. If we truly put God first, then we, ourselves, our egos, must take a backseat. I have, or I desire to, give everything to God. I must admit, it is not easy, and I often wonder how to do it. What I do know is this. 1) Joshua, 24:15, but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. That is the bottom line, even before family. (Often a hard choice.) 2) Deuteronomy 6:5, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. And Leviticus 19:18, Love your neighbor as yourself. (Both of which can also be found in Matthew.” 3) Ephesian 6: 10-17, put on the “FULL” armor of God and “Stand against the devil’s schemes, stand my ground, and stand firm. Regardless what men do, or a man does, what a church board does, it is about me, it is about you, It is about what we do in reaction to what men, a man, or a church board does. It is about our relationship with God, and with our neighbors. Are we individually serving the Lord, standing firm against evil and loving our neighbors? In doing so, we deny our flesh. Our flesh wants us to be angry and to react. It gets pleasure out of the release of that energy, but that energy is negative and thus evil results in our actions. Instead, we stop, and quiet our soul and listen for the small still voice and obey it.
