What’s your eschatology?
Everyone seems to have the keys to the Kingdom. The Catholics say they have the keys. Others say you must profess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Saviors. Others say you must be baptized and still others say you must have been slayed in the spirit. This is, had a sanctifying moment or speak in tongues. These are all prerequisites to belonging. One that I heard from a firm, longtime believer, he asked, “What’s your eschatology?” Lucky for me, I know what he meant. I say lucky for me because he went on to say if you don’t have an eschatological belief you aren’t saved.
Let’s ask the question, shall we?
Okay, I will. No, I am not asking what’s your eschatology, the expectations of end times. I would ask you this question which I have asked on social media a dozen times and have received zero response, “if Christians have it so right, they have the keys, and are doing what God wants them to do, why than does God feel it necessary to give John the prophecy of Revelations?
Think about it. All prophecy is the same, be it to the Jews or to the Christian. Do not turn your back on God, do not disobey God, if you do, then this will happen. Rather, turn back to God and you will be blessed. Does Revelations? Revelations speaks of a battle between good and evil, but it starts with letters to seven churches.
The Church in Ephesus starts off good but then it’s revealed that they have lost the love they first had. They are called to repent and return to who they were when they first started.
The church if Smyrna is called to remain faithful and if they do, they will be rewarded.
The church of Pergamum, some hold to the worship of Baal, they eat what is sacrificed to idols, commit sexual immorality, and disobey the orders from the counsel of Jerusalem. They are called to repentance or else suffer the consequences.
The church of Thyatira, they two are given to sexual immorality and must repent. To those who hold true to their faith, they will be left alone.
The Church in Sardis, like the others they were once alive but are now dead and must come back or suffer the consequences. Once again, there are those who remain solid in their faith will be okay.
The church of Philadelphia is the only church that has remained solid.
Church in Laodicea is also broken and must repent.
What we see are broken churches, a broken people. God calls them back to repentance. No different than what the Prophets of old told the Hebrews. REPENT, turn back to the Lord. From this point on, all the insanity ensues, the destruction of everything. The battle between good and evil. I couldn’t help noting that the 144,000 were from the 12 tribes of Israel, not Christians. After the great battles, plagues and what not, a new heaven and earth come to pass, a new Jerusalem is founded, Eden is restored. All is as it should be. Once again, no different than the other four apocalyptic prophecies.
Back to the original question, what is your eschatology? Does a person really need one? Does believing in on confirm one’s faith? Does not having one condemn one’s faith? This is what I know. God, even Jesus, John the Baptist, Paul, and Peter called people to repentance for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. I say, believe in the Lord. Have faith in Him. If there is an end as portrayed in Revelations or not, you will be okay. How we live our lives daily is what matters in the END.
sickness
Greeting, I must tell you that I've been very sick. I figure I ate some bad food. Nonetheless, the work goes one. This country is a very spiritually dark country, where people sacrifice to trees and rocks, and seek out fortunetellers. My team isn't a team, there are three girls that have formed their own team. There's not much I can do about it. I am sure that He has sent us here to pure a foundation for future teams. I don't question Him. He has a plan, and maybe it is beyond me. There is a spiritual battle being waged here, and in all battles there are casualties. Please be praying for my health, and my teams health. Everyone has come to my rescue, I have more fruit than I can eat. Hoa will be brining over even more since her mother is concerned about me. They are brining me bread. The days are hot here, even more so now that I am sick. We consume a ton of water each day. I must wear two shirts a day which means I must clean my clothes more, which I am...
