Great quotes taken from Warren W. Wierrsbe about ministering to others. “No matter how difficult the work or how many times we feel like quitting, we can keep going and growing if we minister the way God tells us to in His Word.” And, “Being a servant takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God’. In Matthew 14, Jesus feeds the 5000 plus. When presented with the problem of all the people and being away from home, the disciples first instinct was to send them home. They were making their own solution. Jesus on the other hand saw the possibilities and channeled the Lords resources, and the disciples handed out the food. Jesus had compassion for the crowd and allowed himself to be God’s resource channel and of course gave glory to God. When we try and supplant God’s will with our methods and strategies, we may not be following God’s lead. Let us consider the following quotes. “Ministry takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God” Warren W. Wierrsbe. As Bernard of Clairvaux said, “Justice seeks out the merits of the case, but pity only regards the need.” Who are we to limit God’s grace and mercy?” We see later, both Paul and Peter are using the Lord’s resources rather than relying upon themselves. What we need to consider is this. We are called by the Great I am, the Lord of the universe, YHWY, as a distributor of the Lord’s resources. We are not the manufacturer. We aren’t being asked to move a mountain, only to be involved in people’s lives, to help others, whatever that help might be. There is no need to be afraid to be a worker in his fields. The Lord will supply you with whatever you need, will all the resources you need. Consider this, being a worker is a blessing, doing the work blesses you. John 4:34, “My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” Being a servant of the Lord means we are living our lives as the Lord has asked us to do and to be a blessing to others by being a servant. Believing in the Lord is not about going to Church on Sunday, maybe a bible study here and there. It is 24/7, 365 days a year. By focusing on being a servant, you will accomplish this.
